Defining and Explaining the Spinnerbait

September 27th, 2009

If you are thinking about unique kinds of lures for bass fishing, American anglers have been puzzled over the spinnerbait. They are interesting baits because they really don’t look like a bait fish, specifically the standard spinnerbait with a skirt. Many having struggled with understanding why bass hit spinnerbaits, but it must have something to do with vibration and reflection in the water. For some reason many bass can’t resist, and they have to take a bite.

But getting into the different kinds of spinnerbaits that are available out there, you need to consider the different components. Spinnerbaits are generally made up of a straight or bent shaft, with one or more blades, a jig head, and a skirt or worm on the hook. It is these components working together that make the spinnerbait a good selection for beginners and professionals alike when it comes to catching bass.

If you are able to get a few of these, you probably will want to start off getting yourself some natural colored spinner baits for warm and clear water conditions, and some vibrant colored spinnerbaits for murky and cold water conditions.

These combinations can be deadly to unsuspecting bass. So don’t wait, if you are serious about becoming a great bass fisherman, starting looking at spinnerbaits, and go out there and catch you some fish. Spinnerbaits are inexpensive, and with a little time and practice, you can use them to reel in some good bass.
